Not sure if this is the correct group to post in but...

I am looking for a stand-alone 'digital jukebox' server unit I can hook up
to my
stereo system and rip all of my CD's to (100's of disks) . I would like to
record them all to the units hard drive and be able to play them back. Kind
of like TIVO for CDs.

I think I once saw a unit that had a PC java based interface to control the
jukebox from any networked PC, but I cant find the link anylonger. I am not
looking for a toy, or portable MP3 player. The unit I previously saw was
several thousand dollars.

Anyone know of such a unit?

Thanks

Maybe a cheaper solution for you is to do what I did. I ripped all my CDs onto
my computer and play them through my stereo with a software MP3 player.
Probably not the "best" sound, but I cant tell a difference.

Jack,

if you're prepared to spend several thousand dollars, how about buying a PC
with a decent size harddrive and connecting something like a Turtle Beach
Audiotron device to it? See
http://www.turtlebeach.com/site/products/audiotron/producthome.asp
A complete solution should cost less than $1K. And that is including the PC
;-)

Thx,
Chris.

www.webmtn.com builds and sells a home automation server that includes
(among other things) a digital jukebox that does what you want. The
jukebox has an html/javascript interface and can be accessed by any
computer on your network. It plays through your home stereo. However
it does not rip CDs - requires too much processor time when doing
other "home automation" functions.

Contact them at .
