I'm getting ready to move and I'd like to know what some of you pro's
would do about moving a 57". Two guys brought it in, but I'm not sure
if my or my friends are as coordinated. Any suggestions?

First, what brand and model is it? Some older sets had mirrors that folded
in on the back for transport, most do not. There is nothing particularly
difficult about moving these sets unless you are going up stairs. You might
rent or borrow a refrigerator moving cart with straps, that is how we move
them if the path is not flat and smooth enough to just roll it.

One consideration is that I have seen many sets develop coolant leaks after
being moved. Most of the repairs that I have done for coolant leaks have
come some months after a customer has moved, and usually when done by
"professional" movers. Jarring the set can cause a brief separation of the
seal on a CRT and a bit of coolant can leak out, causing corrosion when it
comes to rest on a circuit boar for a time, or high voltage arcing if it
runs down the anode lead. Handling a set carefully and avoiding abrupt or
jarring movements should be no problem. We move them for service all of
the time with no problems, but we are very careful to be gentle when
handling them.

If you can provide the model I can tell you whether I know it to be one that
is prone to the problems with leaks.

It depends....are you moving it from a location with stairs? Single
story level structure? High-rise condominium? From what point to what
point??

It's in a town house now which is up about 10 steps. The new house
has none.

It's a new Toshiba 57 inch. I'll get the model number in a few.
