This isnt suprising, thats one of the nasiest things Ive heard for the
price range. If you want to keep it very small & wall mountable
asolutley nothing can touch M&K LCR25's/V76 sub combo.I set
these up for a friend's new 42 plasma and must say for HT it has
amazing detail, super wide soundstage and has an amazingly great
dynamic sound. Plays extremely loud as well. I myself use fullsize
dynaudio speakers & seperates in my HT but its a lot of money and
takes alot of floorspace. But I also play as much stereo music as HT
so its a must for me. My mains get very low so I dont use a sub in
that case. You have to figure out what your system will be doing
mostly and go that direction.

Both are good, you owe to yourself to visit a few shops and check out
a Denon (3801 etc) as well. There are other speaker as well for small
monitors. Dynaudio(audience series), Energy, Psb, NHT etc Don't rush
it.

Sure, with the correct sub picking up the lows it will sound great

Shaun,

Thanks for the great info. I was looking for a site with good, active
forums on home theater and AVS.com is the one!

I went to another dealer yesterday as well and he sells the Denon
receivers. I got some literature on them and will be researching that
route as well. My room probably won't be done until around Sept or
October anyway so I am definitely taking my time :-)

Thanks again
Todd

Last October I furnished a new room with the following Denon and Paradigm
equipment:

Denon 3803
Monitor 7 fronts
CC-370 center
ADP-170 surrounds
PS-1200 sub

Total was within pennies of $3000. I've been very happy with the entire
set-up. I can't compare them to the Mini-Monitors, but the Monitor 7's have
pretty good bass. I've since traded up to the ADP-370s and added a pair of
Atoms (soon to be upgraded to Mini-Monitors) for the rears. There are
certainly other great speakers out there, but I don't think you can go wrong
with Paradigms for the price.
