I have a Pioneer VSX-D3S amplifier it has developed a problem in that
the left front speaker has started to give off a static noise when
switched on. I have changed speakers and speaker wires to no avail. I
have also switched between front A/B speaker terminals but I still get
same noise on terminal B as A. I can only assume that it is internal
or does any one have any ideas?

If the switchs and controls don't fix it, see if it still makes static with the
volume all the way down or if the static turns up and down with the volume.
That will tell you if the problem is in the pre amp or power amp section.
Either way, you could have a component breaking down that will require service.
