I plan to buy a 50 inch plasma and will be wall mounting it to fit in a
corner of a room. I need wall mount that will allow me to swivel the tv
out to fit into the corner. Has anyone had any experience with this kind
of mount? are any models/brands better than others? are some models
flawed and you just want to stay away from them?

i appreciate all of the advice.

thanks in advance.

First do a bit of HS trig and figure the worse-case distance between a
corner-mounted 50" and the corner. Your bracket *may* need to extend
this distance. Another very important thing to consider is the 16"
placement of studs. Measure out 16" +/- from the corner. This is
probably the point where the bracket will be mounted. Again applying
HS Trig, figure the distance from that 16" stud point to where the
center of the 50" will be when mounted in the corner. Your bracket
will need to accommodate this distance without droop. This is akin
to the off-axis spec of the bracket, again, droop. If you plan to
pull out/extend the display from either side, you will then need an
extended range bracket.

BTW, if you plan to use HDMI connectivity, make sure the display's
HDMI connectors are not located in the center (like the SONY Bravia).
I had to return a SONY50" along with the non-SONY bracket due to where
the HDMI port was located. BEST BUY had NO other solution than take
the hardware back!

Good Luck! You present an interesting mounting problem.
