View Full Version : Installed TurboNet, can't telnet in

Hi, I apologize for asking what is probably a lame question, but it's
bugging me so bad:
I installed my new TurboNet card (and Linksys router) the other day.
Hooked the TiVo up to the router and rebooted. I can ping the TiVo no
problem. Trying to telnet in to the address assigned by DHCP on port
23, no-go.
I earlier installed all the fun stuff in a /hack directory while
upgrading the HD. However, now when I reboot and get the bash (over
serial), ls and the other functions I installed earlier don't work.
Any tips on how I can get the telnet/ftp/tivoweb up and running? I've
searched through countless tutorials, but can't find out what I'm
doing wrong. I'm sure it's my limited Linux knowledge that causes the
problem. Could someone do a step by step on what I should do after
installing the card (without hooking the tivo HD up to my PC again,
remember I do get a bash prompt over serial still).
Thank you in advance to anybody patient enough to humour a Linux
newbie.
Best regards,
Audun

Easiest way is to download and run "nic_install" from
www.silicondust.com, as if you were installing Turbonet drivers from
scratch.
