Can't use a channel with a "6" in it

I have sony TiVo and Motorola cable box that has worked fine for
several years. Yesterday, any time I tried to choose a channel with a
6 (6, 16, 26,60, 65, 116 etc..) either by direct entry or selection
from the guide it would choose the channel but the entry would drop
the "6" when completing the change. The banner will then show the
channel as if it changed (TiVo thinks it's there) but it has not
changed channels. I have tried a reset and a complete delete and
reprogram. If I change from TiVo to cable input and use the cable
remote I can access all channels fine so the cable box an TV work
fine.
Any thoughts?

Go back into the cable box setup in the Tivo and select a different IR code
for your model of cable box. That'll take care of it.
