Default TiVo with Dish Network

Is there anyone here who is successfully using a TiVo (preferably Series
2) with Dish Network? I bought a TiVo a couple of weeks ago, and no
matter what I do, the channel lineup comes up blank. I've been through
guided setup so many times I have it memorized, and no one I talk to
seems to be able to figure out what the problem is.

I had an S2 hooked up to Dish several moons ago. I was pretty
straightforward and pretty much identical to dealing with any other STB.

Have you hooked up a Tivo to an STB before?

Are you sure the Tivo can phone home?
Is the Tivo retrieving guide data?
Is there more than one guide profile (for dish) you can try?

Default TiVo with Dish Network

He posted in TiVoLovers.com last week, so I can fill in some of the
details.

No, it is his first TiVo.

The TiVo is phoning home. He also has basic cable in his house,
because he has a cable modem and it was bundled, and he setup the TiVo
to use that - and it worked fine. It is only when he tries to set it
up for Dish Network that it has problems.

What he's seeing is that the unit seems to set up correctly, but then
the Channels I Receive list is empty. The TiVo thinks it is setup for
Dish Network, and it calls home and unpacks the data, but seems to
think it receives no channels.

During setup the IR blasters will change the channels on the receiver,
but then once it is complete it stops working. Probably because the
TiVo doesn't think it has any channels to change *to*.

I don't know if he's tried more than one guide.

I've don't think I've seen anything like this before.

You should share the fix, it may help others in the future.

The trouble is I don't know what to say for a fix other than "report it to
the channel lineup people". At the suggestion of TiVo Customer Service, I
made a report using the online channel lineup help form, telling them my
lineup was totally blank. I then exchanged a couple more emails with the
channel lineup people, and about 6 hours later was told in a final email to
clear out all data and do 'guided setup' again. It then worked.
